Pool Time!

Summer is here! Today was a fun day. I had my first picnic in the park then later I got to go in my Lil Squirt pool! It was my first time in any kind of pool and my first time in a swimsuit for that matter! Mom & Dad had fun playing with me and I had lots of fun splashing around...I stayed in til my lips turned blue!

Here are a few pictures capturing my antics...

Progress

Good news this week...My x-rays came back great and I'm now able to be out of my brace during the day (only have to wear it at night!) Can now wear pants again too if I want! Needless to say it is very nice to be FREE and kick my legs all over the place. I'm still being monitored so will have to see again in a few months how the brace is working, but for now I'm going to enjoy my summer!

Meanwhile, I've been standing A LOT! Can do it myself now, leaning against my ottoman, which is a big step for me. I guess all that physical therapy and practicing at home is paying off :) Oh, and I have a new ride!

Check out some of my recent pics---riding my car and working hard in PT!

My First Cupcake!

I had my very own cupcake for the first time tonight! It was a VERY BELATED 1st birthday treat. I have to admit I was a bit unsure of it at first but by the end I was hooked. My Mom thinks her chocoholic gene was definitely passed on to me. Unfortunately, once I mangled it to shreds and really started to dig in it was taken away.---Mom & Dad didn't want me to get sick. At least I did get in a bite or two beforehand :)

Have a 10th tooth coming in now too! All the more to eat future cupcakes with!!

2 Weeks of PT

I've now had 4 sessions of physical therapy. I am not really enjoying it, to say the least. I cry a lot. I'm being put in lots of positions I've never been in before and am not happy about it. I know it's all good for me but I think it's going to take a while for me to get used to the idea of it all. Mom is there, which is helpful, but I certainly would rather be elsewhere...like playing at home with my "Tub of Toys." Anyway, I am making some improvements, which is good, especially since it's only been a couple of weeks. I can't believe how many new things there are for me to learn. I actually have HOMEWORK (different activities to practice) after each session too...who knew I'd have homework at this age! Keeps Mom on her toes though :)

Also, got news this last week that I do not have the gene for brittle bone disease. Am waiting now to hear back from my doctor to see if he can figure out what IS causing me to have such soft bones and what, if anything, I can do to help improve things.

Oh, and I'm getting 3 more teeth...that makes 9! Can anyone say CHOMP!!
